  • About Me

Thank you for visiting my practice! I have been offering counseling and psychotherapy to clients since 2008, with the addition of teletherapy in 2017. During my career, I have worked with individuals and families in clinical outpatient settings, schools and private practice. I have specific training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, with additional certifications related to Anxiety and Teletherapy.

I hold a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Later I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am currently licensed in North Carolina as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and in South Carolina as a licensed independent social worker (LISW-CP).

I currently work with individuals, ages 12+.

    Why Teletherapy

Telehealth allows us to provide counseling and therapy to our clients via live video conferencing. This can be done anywhere you have a computer or smartphone. As long as you are physically located in North or South Carolina, you are able to engage in therapy sessions with me.

Teletherapy offers unique benefits such as being able to engage in a session while in the comfort of your own space, as well as offers a convenience by eliminating commute times and waiting rooms. Clients have shared that with teletherapy, weekly and consistent sessions have been significantly more feasible and manageable.

Teletherapy of the Carolinas, LLC allows you to schedule an appointment directly online and have the entire therapy session take place virtually. While you don’t need a video camera, it is recommended.

Research shows that teletherapy using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is proven to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

    Comfort

Sit in your favorite chair. Grab your favorite cup of tea. Snuggle with a furry friend. With teletherapy, you can utilize your comfort items to enhance the therapeutic experience.

    Convenience

Perhaps you live in a more rural area. Or maybe you simply prefer to do things virtually. Eliminate driving time and uncomfortable waiting rooms.

    Connection

Therapy can be anxiety provoking in and of itself. Strong connection occurs when clients feel comfortable and safe within their own setting, with a trained therapist that they trust.
